Food weight to decline to 36.75% in new CPI series

India's new Consumer Price Index series, effective February 12, will reduce food and beverage weight to 36.75% from 45.86%, reflecting evolving household spending. The revamped index also incorporates online market prices and rural housing rent for a comprehensive view.
